Invitation to FEATURING KAISERSTEINBRUCH # 3

Invitation to FEATURING KAISERSTEINBRUCH # 3

Was bleibt? – What remains? – Que reste-t-il? – Cosa rimane?

2018 is a year of commemoration for Europe and Austria (100 year Republic of Austria). The commemoration also focuses on the diverse history of Kaisersteinbruch in connection to the collective history of Europa in the context of two world wars.

The non-profit museum and cultural association Kaisersteinbruch revitalized an international art symposium in Burgenland in 2016, which artistically illuminates historical events on the basis of earlier sculptor symposia (1990-2007) and works on municipal memory and European history in an innovative way.

This year’s subtitles Was bleibt? – What remains? – Que reste-t-il? – Cosa rimane? points to the confrontation with the European culture of remembrance and reflects their spoilage in Kaisersteinbruch.

From 19 to 22 September 2018, the third and final symposium will take place. The Belgian artist Matthias De Wolf has created the country plate for Belgium, which is the culmination of a long-standing effort, communal culture and collective history – carved in stone.

The ceremonial revelation of the Belgium plate at the Europa-Mauer takes place in the context of a ceremonial act
on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 4 p.m

We cordially invite you to the events as part of our symposium and look forward to your esteemed participation!
